Quinby, Henry B.
(1846-1924) Born in Biddeford, son of Thomas Quinby, Agent of the Saco Water Power Company. The family home was at the corner of Elm and Spruce Streets before moving to Elm and Thornton Streets. Graduated from Biddeford High School, and after a distinguished business career was elected Governor of New Hampshire (1909-1911). Entered in “Who’s Who in America” about 1924. Quinby, Thomas
(1813-1885) Graduate of Parsonsfield Academy, studied Civil Engineering under James Hall of Portland. Came to Biddeford in 1841, as engineer, bookkeeper and paymaster of the new Saco Water Power Company. Served as a County Commissioner from 1866-1870. Also served as a director of Biddeford Bank from it’s inception until 1870. Father of Henry B. Quinby. Obit in BWJ 06/19/1885, p.3.
